Guy Le Monnier is a French trained chef from Brittany, north-west of France. He has travelled through Europe, Asia, Australia and beyond honing his culinary skills. Guy Le Monnier settled in Victoria in 1997 and opened Island Gourmet Catering in 2001.
Guy has built a reputation for creating deliciously elegant meals, ranging from intimate home based gatherings to larger corporate events. Regardless of the number of guests, chef Guy Le Monnier prides himself on forging an excellent relationship with clients, ensuring their needs are fully met. “That connection with the client is the most important thing for me,” says Guy. “It’s not enough to wrap up the evening; I want to ensure the client is happy and know they have a smile on their face.”
With his globally influenced repertoire, Guy Le Monnier loves to create something out of the ordinary, impeccably presented, of course. One of his favourite items has become his barbecued banana leaf wrapped salmon – moist and flavourful, and always a highlight.
It’s no surprise his approach to each event is also client-focused, tailored to each client’s vision for their event and their unique needs.
